A New Creative Adventure

Winnie The Pooh Adventure Quote - A5 Letterpress Print by Inky Collective

Hello, hello! Sorry for the lack of blogging and tweeting. I’ve either been sitting in shock, or rushing about trying to tick things off my growing To Do list.

As most of you will have hopefully seen, my Kickstarter was successfully funded last week (yay!) with a few days to spare. The whole campaign was quite the experience and I’ll be writing a separate post all about it in the coming months, but for now I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who pledged, sent lovely messages, or shared the link around. I quite literally, obviously, couldn’t have done it without you!

This week has been all about keeping on top of my inbox, printing new designs, packaging up rewards, and planning for the workshops.

Finding a studio has been much harder than I had originally hoped, due to a number of different obstacles – the weight of the Vicobold, or the vibrations made by its motor, high rents, risky contract lengths, location, and so on.

I was really relieved when the commercial printer’s where the Vic currently resides said I could keep her there for another six months if needed. That solved one side of the problem, but I still had to find somewhere to hold the workshops.

I’m really happy to say that I now have a lovely space confirmed for these while I continue the search for a more permanent home… drum roll please…

Old School Club - Letterpress Workshops -Inky Collective Blog

Ta da! The Old School Club!

The Old School Club, a short walk from Clapham Junction station, has had a mention or two here before, as it’s the base for Makerhood Battersea as well as home to regular crafty workshops run by founder Inma and a multitude of other talented makers.

The workshops and meet ups take place on the ground floor, whereas I’ll be setting up shop with the two Adanas on the delightfully bright mezzanine above!

I don’t have any photos of the space to share with you yet as it needs a bit of a sort out. I’ll share some snaps as soon as possible, and I’ll be helping Inma get it workshop-ready over the next couple of weeks.

Letterpress Christmas Decorations - Inky Collective Blog

The other news is I’ve been designing a whole new collection or cards and products ready for *whispers* Christmas, some of which you’ll have seen popping up on Instagram already, and most of which should be in my Etsy shop today!

I’ve also got a couple of exciting print commissions lined up off the back of the Kickstarter campaign, which I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into.

So that’s my news for now, I think! From next week it’ll be back to a bit more of a regular routine on the blog – there are interviews, top tips and guest posts lined up, but I shall of course still bother you with how the studio search is going, and a little bit of letterpress loveliness.

Have a great weekend everyone!
